Funding

We are committed to delivering the highest quality care and early education for your child. As part of this, we proudly offer government-funded places. These aim to bridge socioeconomic gaps in England and support parents and carers in returning to work. We strictly follow national and local authority guidelines when claiming funding payments.

Scope of Funding

We adhere to the following funding terms and conditions:

  • Funded hours cannot exceed 570 (15 hours) or 1140 (30 hours) annually.
  • Funding is for children aged 9 months and above, starting the term after they become eligible.
  • Funded hours are available 38 weeks per year, between 6:00am–8:00pm only.
  • Funding cannot exceed 10 hours per day or more than 15/30 hours per week.
  • Sessions must run in continuous blocks (e.g. cannot break over lunchtime).
  • Children may attend a maximum of two childcare settings per day.
  • Providers are not required to offer all 15/30 hours per child.
  • Funded hours cannot be conditional on parents paying for extras (e.g. meals or activities).
  • No registration fees are permitted (refundable deposits are allowed).
  • Providers must be registered, insured, meet EYFS standards, and promote British values.
  • Childminders cannot claim for children related to them by blood or marriage.

Eligibility

  • Children are entitled to 15 or 30 funded hours per week (over 38 weeks/year).
  • Families may stretch these hours over more than 38 weeks, resulting in fewer weekly hours.
  • Parents can split funded hours between settings if the total doesn’t exceed maximums.

Registration & Claims Process

To apply for a funded place:

  1. Obtain your 11-digit eligibility code (where applicable) from HMRC.
  2. Provide your child’s original birth certificate.
  3. Complete and sign the contract and provide written consent for us to check eligibility with the local authority.
  4. Eligibility must be reconfirmed every 3 months.

Priority for places will be determined in accordance with our Admissions Policy (e.g. sibling priority, date of enquiry, etc.). If no spaces are available, you may request to join our waiting list.

Use of Funded Hours

  • Funded hours can be split across different days or providers.
  • We are happy to stretch funded hours across our 48-week year where possible.
  • If a child attends multiple settings, we will work collaboratively with other providers to ensure consistency and continuity of care.
  • Parents must confirm which provider claims the universal (15 hours) and which the extended (additional 15 hours) entitlement.

Where eligible, Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) and Disability Access Funding (DAF) will be used to support your child’s learning and development.
